In Honor of Jeff Vincent

Jeff was my best friend for almost two decades. I met him one year into his sobriety and when he passed, he had 19 years of sobriety under his belt.

He was a fixture at Inspired Fitness Training Center, and often he could be found under the squat rack working out or hanging out with the community.

He won his first battle with cancer. As soon as he could drive after treatments, he would show up at the gym. In the beginning, all he could do was sit on the flat bench. No working out, just being there. He said that showing up and making the gym part of his routine again was a huge part on his recovery.

Eventually he got stronger, and our workouts resumed.

Jeff would lend a helping hand or a kind word to anyone, bringing his laughter and singing.

When I look back, our rainbow logo really began with Jeff. All people are welcome.

Jeff’s wings took off on February 28, 2022. Jeff was a huge part of the Inspired community and in his memory, we have created a scholarship fund to support others who can’t afford gym membership or training but has the heart, desire, and perseverance to show up.

  • Your donation helps to provide gym membership free of charge.

  • The recipient can be nominated, or those in need may complete the application themselves.

  • You can choose to have your donation sponsor a specific recipient—just open the form above and provide the recipient information.

  • You do not need to recommend a specific recipient to make a donation—your donation or it can just be added to the general fund to be allocated to other applicants in the future.
